If you see an error like “24001: ExoPlaybackException: ERROR_CODE_DECODER_INIT_FAILED” while trying to watch a video, it usually means the video decoder couldn’t start properly due to a temporary issue with your device environment—such as limited system resources or conflicts with other apps.
Please try the following steps to resolve the issue:
1. Close all background apps
Apps running in the background may use memory, preventing the video decoder from initializing.
👉 Close all background apps and launch only the Laftel app before trying playback again.
2. Restart your device
Restarting helps reset the system environment and clear temporary memory.
👉 Turn off your device completely, wait a few seconds, then power it back on.
3. Free up storage and memory
Low storage or RAM can interfere with smooth playback.
👉 Delete unused apps or files, or clear cached data to ensure your device has enough free resources.
4. Switch to a different network
Unstable network conditions may also cause the decoder to fail.
👉 Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data (LTE/5G) to check if the issue persists.
5. Keep your device and app up to date
Outdated operating systems or app versions may cause compatibility issues with video codecs.
👉 Update the Laftel app via Google Play Store
👉 Go to Settings > Software update and ensure your Android OS is up to date.
6. Check security apps or antivirus settings
Some antivirus or security apps may block access to the video decoder.
👉 Try temporarily disabling any antivirus or security apps and attempt playback again.
